Fighting for the Sinner or the Saint & Gig on 280525

So pleased to annouce I have a new album ‘Fighting for the Sinner or the Saint’. Its an album full of songs for our time! The good news is that you’ll hear a little less of me on this collection because I’m joined by some amazingly talented friends. Piano, Keys and Accordion by Lars Hammersland (9 tracks). Bass courtesy of Svein Henning Berstad (4 track). Drums by Justine Barker (1). I’ll allow you to judge but I am, to say the least, very pleased with the results, if not absolutely blown away!

If you’re digitally ‘tuned in’ the album is available to buy and to stream on just about all of the popular platforms. It might be a day or two before it appears everywhere but it is already on Spotify.

I’ll be getting a few cd copies together for the old die hards amongst us and I’ll have them with me at the Cavern (Raynes Park) on the 28th May.

Take a listen, spread the word and enjoy. The albums available at digital outlets including spotify – links below

Gig at the Cavern 26th June

Looking forward greatly to playing The Cavern 100 Coombe Ln, West Wimbledon, London SW20 on the 26th June. This solo evening will be an opportunity to perform songs from my recent albums and knock out a few favourite covers. I’ll likely even dust of ‘Raynes Park’ because after all that was where I was born and as you may know “I never caught a Greyhound Bus I caught the 131” Hope to see many friendly faces.

The Decemeber session is also in planning and will take place on 13th December. In line with previous years I’m inviting back guests from my nights this year! Lots are saying yes so it will be a night of quick fire sets and Xmas fun.

  • New songs this month!

    New songs this month!

I have a new collection of 8 songs about to be released to the world via CDBaby. I’d been out walking with camera in hand and my plan was to try and take one photo for each of the new songs. It shouldn’t have been difficuly but it was. But this pic seems to say so much about the collection but in particulary the song ‘What happened to freedom’ that it has become the CD cover photo and the photo for the online songs. I’ll be posting links to the songs very shortly in the meantime this is me singing an early version of the title track during and internet live stream last year. At that time lyrics were still developing, the last verse hadnt been written and the song even had a different name! LOL The collection even includes one or two happy songs. The track listing is as follow:

What happened to freedom, The Strength of a Woman, Set the children free, The Rooks and the Ravens, The Robin, Look upon my life, Highways Cities and Motorway Towns and He sees me.

  • Evangeline

    Evangeline

I’d read the old Longfellow poem and was inspired to reverse the narrative to the fellas perspective and transplant the song a couple of hundred years in the future. A gentle delivery on a 1950s archtop. Filmed in May 2020 but it has a very wintery fell so quite valid. Lol

  • Living out on the streets.

    Living out on the streets.

This is a cut – live in my studio – a bit reverb mad but you know I love a bit of reverb. Joking aside – this song tries to put thoughts together about where we are in the Uk at the present. Sad times indeed.

    Looking back to move forward

Looking forward to playing a special gig on the 27 August @ Folk In The Park and decided to take along souvenir CD. Its a little bit of a retrospective plus two new songs. Its been quite a challenge reviewing the older tracks, remixing and remastering them but its been worthwhile. There are a few hard to find songs here including Arlington, Cold Steel Heart and Take A Walk With Me. These were recorded with Attack of The Kodakromes and appeared in videos but not on formal releases. They sound pucker. These cd’s will only be available from me.

I’ve also been sharpening pencils and crayons and have had a bit of fun coming up with a cover.

Come along on the 27th its gonna be good 🙂

  • The Awakening Of A Heart

    The Awakening Of A Heart

Words I wrote while sitting with my Dad in the days before he passed away. It was a time when emotions and senses were tuned acutely high. Years have passed but the emotions and the feeling still run high.

    Raynes Park The Video

Many years ago, back in 99 to be precise, when I was teaching myself guitar my wife and I wrote a song and made a video. I sang this song last Saturday down theSound Lounge and it received a most positive reception so here’s the video. Enjoy and please accept apologies for the poor quality but thats where we were back in the day!
